Now that we're expecting I can no longer use the old sandwich standby for lunch. I know you can heat up the lunchmeat and it's supposed to be safe, but right now hot lunchmeat just doesn't sound appealing. Anyone got any ideas for lunch with some protein that doesn't include fish, lunchmeat, or soft cheeses?? Fast and portable are also key! TIA!
Re: Portable lunch ideas??
Chili with beans is very high in protein (beans are great source of fiber, protein, etc.)... It's become one of my go-to dinners as it's easy to heat up and filling.
Hardboiled eggs are another easy protein source (but I think eggs in any of their forms tend to be gross).
Cooked, sliced chicken breast is also excellent.
Do you like hummus?
It's my go-to! I mix up what I eat with it: carrots, cucumbers, peppers, pita, etc
