DH is taking me to Asheville next weekend for my birthday. We are obviously going to the Biltmore which will take most of the day on Saturday. We have Friday evening and Saturday evening available. Any recommendations? I know it's nicknamed Beercity USA....and we are big beer drinkers, but I'm not sure what is available in the evening.

Re: RP: Asheville
It's a couple years old, but here's some reviews & recommendations http://ramblingalethea.blogspot.com/search/label/Asheville
My fave restaurant was definitely Salsas! Have fun, it'll be beautiful this time of year.
You should definitely take a stroll around downtown. There are lots of good restaurants and pubs around to pick from. Like the PP said, Salsas is very good- it's like Mexican-Caribbean food but it can get really crowded in there around peak times. Other personal favorites are Mayfels, Jack of the Wood pub, Tingles Cafe and Doc Cheys. If you're into beer, there are lots of good breweries to check out, including Wedge which is in the River Arts District, Highland and Pisgah (over in Black Mountain, NC). If you're into barbecue, there's 12 Bones and Luellas. 12 Bones is definitely the more well known and publicized but I actually prefer the food at Luellas.
That's sort of a lot of random information so let me know if you have other questions. I live in Asheville and have been making it a point to explore as much as I can.
