buying meat in bulk?

Hi ladies - DH and I are looking to buy some meat in bulk and we've heard of places out on/off 81 that do this. Does anyone have any recommendations?

 Thanks!!

Re: buying meat in bulk?

  • No but I can't wait to hear what folks say.  I did recently watch an episode of Cook's Illustrated where they say that frozen chicken starts to deterioate about after being frozen for 2 months.  Having said that, I don't particularly notice it when I pull out something that has been frozen for say, 3 months.

    Just thought I would mention.

  • We get ours delivered, it arrived frozen from www.8oclockranch.com It is all grass-fed, happy animals. So far we've been very happy with them.

  • We are getting bulk beef delivered next Wednesday from Polyface. http://www.polyfacefarms.com/ I will let you all know how we like it!  We are really excited to try it as several of our cousins have toured the farm for agriculture studies and I have heard awesome things about their beef and chicken!
