My first attempt to PIP-- wedding pics!

Just call me Larry Flynt- haha.  Here are a few wedding pics (I hope).  Our ceremony and reception were in New Orleans.  The reception hall is located in N.O. City Park in the botanical gardens.  The pic of us with the umbrellas is a Nola tradition called the Second Line March-- sort of a conga line led by the bride and groom to a jazz song.  Enjoy!!!  PS-- I'm trying to find the one of the dog in his tux but it will take me a minute.

  • OMG - you look beautiful!  Must see more pics!

I love the march photo - can you tell us a little more about the tradition? Do you go throughout the reception area, is there a specific song that's always used, or do you select your fav jazz number?

  • Thanks!!!!  for the second line march-- it's a specific song of the same name.  It's a fast trumpet tune.  We just led ours around our room, but a lot of couples like to go up and down the streets of the French Quarter (like a mini-parade).  All your guests walk behind you waving hankerchiefs (back in the day it was done during jazz funerals).  We just had our dj play the song, but a lot of people hire local jazz bands to lead the way-- tons of fun!
  • Your pictures are amazing!  It looks like you had a beautiful wedding (and great photographer!).  Thank you so much for sharing with us!  We won't be opposed to seeing more!

I'm going right now to check out the dog post...

  • Thanks!!  I'll try to post a few more later.  We had 8 BM's and GM's, 2 Jr GM's and a FG.  HUGE bridal party, some of which we "had" to include, but in the end it didn't matter and I'm just glad that that many people wanted to stand up for us.
  • Beautiful!  Thanks for sharing! :)
