Wine in the Woods, Columbia, MD

Anyone been?

My SIL and her bff are coming down this weekend and we are going to go... just wondering what its like, what to expect... I see on their website that there is food, music, crafts, etc.  Is it something that we should expect to spend the whole day at?  Just trying to figure out if I should be planning something else as well...

Thanks!

  • In the past, it's been an all-day activity. At least, I wouldn't really plan on being able to do much afterwards if you sample your money's worth.

However, it's gotten pretty crowded. So you might want to plan to get there when the gates open so that you can get some good sampling in before the crowds and maybe dip out for late lunch/early dinner. But, we've also done the opposite - brought blankets and food to stay all day. That really depends on being able to find space for a blanket, though.

    Excellent, thanks!

Sadly, I am DD so there is no chance of me getting my money's worth.... boo!

Sounds like fun - we won't be able to get there until about 130p, but we'll make the most of it and head over to Clyde's or someplace nearby if it is too packed :)

  • We've been and it's a lot of fun.  Like the pp mentioned, get there early, pick your place, people are pretty respectful of everyone.  Go around and enjoy the wines.  Honestly, we usually pack a lunch, fruit, etc. and hang out for the day with friends.  It will be busy by 1:30 I can promise you that, but you should still have a nice time.  It's a great opportunity to get exposure to some of the lesser known MD wineries.

    What did I miss?

    What happens in November?

I'll definitely have one (and probably only one!) in your honor!
