  • i can't find the post. :(

i loved it. i really liked him from the beginning and i think that he showed most improvement from taking the investors suggestions as well as staying true to himself.

that meatball guy drove me CRAZY and i am really glad he didn't win.

  • He drove me crazy too - for some reason he just rubbed me the wrong way.  Like how he'd cry at every turn about something.  He just seemed like he wasn't "all there" either - he wanted to hold a gun in his poster and the whole "saucy balls" name ...seriously?

  • yes! the crying especially! i am really glad they made him change that picture of his grandma too - it scared me!
also, the husband and i were talking about it and i'm sure his meatballs were really good but we really couldn't see ourselves saying "what do you want for dinner?"...."how about meatballs!" it was kind of a weird concept to me.

  • I hated the saucy balls guy! I wasn't a fan of that other chick that wanted the fixed calorie meals. She had no idea what her concept was and I am shocked that she lasted as long as she did.

I think Grill Billies was a good concept, but their chef was a hot mess.

yes, i agree with all this too.

i really really really liked the grilled cheese concept. i don't understand why the investors couldn't understand it.

  • Yeah, meatballs wouldn't be something I'd want on a regular basis - I'm very VERY curious about the healthy soul food idea though so I would love to try his food.  I'm hoping they open a branch in Michigan since he's from here.

I liked the Grill Billies idea too Katie - but I hated how their chef seemed to fight with that chick tooth and nail about everything.  Like the kid challenge where the chef thought it would be a good idea to serve young children shisk kabobs - like a sharp stick is a good idea to hand to children.  And then when he dropped half of them on the way to the challenge and started kicking the food around.  Seriously - I would have fired him on the spot!

ohh, I liked the grilled cheese guy, too, but I think he wasn't listening to them at all and they were getting frustrated. They told him at least 3 straight weeks to make some sort of dipping sauce and when he finally did it was bad.

I think they also didn't like that he was basically copying Chipotle's design.

fired him?!? i would have punched him in his weird look face! he got them kicked off for sure.

the first thing my husband said when the show was over was "when does he get to open one in detroit?"

Yeah - I think that would have done well too - I hated that cocky dude who Bobby Flay kept saying would be a good bar manager vs restaurant owner.
