Re: Morning Girlies!!
It was good- It was a lot of fun for about the first 9 miles... the last 4 kinda sucked. I was just drained. The first 5 miles really were a breeze... I'd see a mile marker and think, "okay, next mile..." but by about 3/4 the way through I was ready to be done.
Coming down the home stretch, the last .1-.2 miles, was an absolutely amazing feeling. So many people lined up to watch loved ones come it. Just an awesome experience!
After the race I was pretty beat. I had hoped to stick around and explore the after race zones with vendors and such, but my body just wasn't having it. The clothes I brought to change into didn't cut coldness that I was feeling, so my body was uncontrollably shivering.
Glad I ran? Hells yes! Will I do it again.... mmmmm...ehhh, probably not. One and done, and crossed off the bucket list!
No no no!!! I was going to try to convince you to keep training and come to Philly in September to run my first with me!! Pretty please??
I'm so proud of you for doing it! And I'm sure I don't blame you for not wanting to do it again (I'll let you know for sure in a few months, hopefully).

Before this race/training what was the furthest distance you ran? Ive been adding miles and am up to 6.5 and have really been thinking of doing a half.
I still think you're a rockstar :::high five:::
I could never do it
Oh damnitalltohell. Can I think about it? I'd love to take a trip to Philly.... let me think about it. I was a little "goofy" after the race and my body wasn't physically functioning, but today I feel relatively fine. Hmmmmmmm.
And Allie- 10 miles was the farthest I had run before the race. A lot of the training programs have you run to 10 and then stay there, figuring the "energy" will carry you the last 3. If I run the 1/2 with Becky in the fall, I'll probably run the whole 13 a couple times before the race.
Congrats on doing that! Huge accomplishment!

Of course you can think about it. I'm not planning to commit for sure until next month.

What's the race? Need to do some research.....
It's the Philly Distance Run (although I think it's called the Philly Rock and Roll 1/2 marathon now). It's September 18th.

Wahoo! I saw your post on FB about finishing!
I'm contemplating doing the Kansas City half, but I'm just not sure yet. The farthest I've done is a 10K, and I barely trained for that, but it was slooooow.
I support you going to do Philly with Becky:)
The link to FB through the chip tracking was an awesome idea!! I loved coming back to see all the love and support I had. Amazing!
Around mile 9-11 I kept thinking slow and steady wins the race. There's nothing wrong with running slow. The fact is, you're running, and that's really all that matters.
Congrats again!!
If I lived closer I would come and do the Philly run with ya!
