Cookies for a wedding?

So DH's cousin is getting married in August and it's a tradition to have a cookie table.  Does anyone have a "go to" cookie they love to make and is always really well received?

I made lemon sugar cookies for Easter and people loved them. Just add a tablespoon of lemon zest of a package of sugar cookies (makes 3 dozen little cookies), then I drizzled melted white chocolate over them.

You can also do cut-out sugar cookies and wedding related shapes (like a cake, presents, etc).

Oatmeal with raisins or chocolate chips are always popular, and just good old fashion chocolate chip like Jess mentioned.

I have a peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe that is easy to make and bakes really well (and the recipe makes a buttload of cookies) in my blog.

I may have to bake extra cookies this week just to keep the drooling at bay! My mouth is literally watering talking about all of these cookies!

Has anyone had experience with "fillings" in cookies? Like jams and stuff?

Essentially, it's an peanut butter oatmeal cookie with chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and M&Ms. It's like everything good all rolled up together.

My other favorite is chocolate drop cookies with a chocolate frosting.

I have recipes if you want them.

I love Monster cookies. It is a mixture of everything in one cookie = heaven.

Also oatmeal raisin is a close second for me.

  • We had a "cookie bar" for our wedding favors. We had snickerdoodles, molasses cookies, peanut butter blossoms (with the hershey kiss in the center), and chocolate chip with oatmeal.
