*Mrs.CFH2/AmericaMowry & other Jan RO Beaumont babies
Are you doing the parenting group through Beaumont? I just got a call yesterday that it is starting in a couple weeks for Dec/Jan/Feb babies.
DH isn't thrilled about it, but I said we should give it a shot. I know two people who have done it and one still gets together with their group and their son is 3, the other friend might not have even finished the 6 months it normally goes. I figured why not try it and we can quit if it's not for us. It meets from 7-9, right when DD goes to bed, so we'll see how that goes..

I think you should totally try it out! I wish there was something like that for Providence Park (maybe there is and I just don't know about it). I know the bedtime thing is always tricky but you never know. We are taking P to her first night Tigers game tomorrow and I'm pretty nervous about it- she usually is in by by 730 and the game doesn't even start till 7. I'm hoping she will surprise us and it will be fine.
Good luck!
Good luck with P at the game! Let me know how it goes.
We have yet to take Molly to a game yet. We've only gone to night games so far and it's been chilly, so we've left her with my mom.
I've been contemplating it. They gave me a call the other day too. They told me there were a couple of options, one that H & I could do together and meet up with other local parents, or there are mom & baby meet ups too.
I know H would not be into it... The time is rough with the LOs too..
I did the one that met during the day...it was really good to meet parents of kids around the same age. The topics covered at the meetings were helpful okay, some of them were boring. I mostly liked it for the interaction. Since we didn't know anyone in the area, it was a good way for me to branch out and meet people. I especially found it useful as not many of my friends had children yet, so it was good to be able to hear/see what things were working for others.
Our group still meets every week. Although I don't always make it, it is super fun to watch all the babies interact together when we do.
That time at night would be hard, and I'm not sure how much the husbands would get out of it. It is definitely worth signing up and going a few times though. It took a good 3 meetings for us to all warm up and get comfortable. If I had based my decision solely on our first meeting, I probably wouldn't have gone back.
The group for mine starts on May 23rd. (out of troy though) I think we are going to pass. Since I am back to work, I can not do the 7-9 every other Monday night. If they had a weekend thing, I would do it. The time sucks for taking LO, being he goes to bed in that time, and with our nightime routine, I can't risk changing it and losing out on more sleep.
When does your class start?
Thursday would be a better night for me. I would probably give it a try if it were a Thursday, since I am off a few Fridays a month. Mine is on a Monday, and that day sucks for me.
I'm curious if there are a lot of people in the class...now you got me thinking I should just try it.
They usually try to get 10-12 babies per group.
My Happy House
Oh right! Since you, Amanda and I were so close and Amanda was a Beaumont mommy, I was just assuming you were too - duh.
