The last time we went to the movies, P wasn't even born yet. We're not doing well on the DVD, on demand, etc, front, either.
B is away for work, so I'm trying to catch up on my movie watching. I watched Easy A, Dear John and Eat, Pray, Love last night (his flight was delayed and I was up until after midnight waiting for confirmation that he landed).
Any suggestions? Something that might be running on-demand, that was put out over the last 2 years. Chick flicks are best as he won't watch them with me.
Thanks!!

Becky has
read 2 books toward her goal of 50 books.
Re: Suggest some movies!!
On-demand as in Netflix on-demand? Or DirecTV on-demand?
Any interest in TV shows? Glee is my new sans-DH show of choice.
I'm in your same boat, DH rarely agrees to watch chick flicks so I don't even think about them anymore.
These are mostly from the Netflix list I just pulled up on comedies:
Sex and the City, SATC 2, Glee, Friday Night Lights (TV, not movie), Juno, He's Just Not That Into You, It's Complicated, 500 Days of Summer, Up in the Air, The Proposal, I Love You Man, The Holiday.
Oh, good point. We do have netflix but I have to figure out how to do that. We just changed from comcast to fios. We get some of the premium channels (starz and showtime, I think).
I tried and tried but just can't get into Glee. Friday Night Lights is a good one. I'm a sucker for a good story line that revolves partially around sports. I did catch The Holiday, Juno and Up in the Air, so I guess I'm not doing so bad!
Thanks for the list!

If you are looking for a TV show on Netflix streaming, I would suggest Friday Night Lights. I loved the whole series and watched it within a couple of weeks.
Movies in the Netflix queue that I think might fit your requirement: Life as We Know It, Morning Glory, Burlesque, Love and Other Drugs, No Strings Attached
Some I have seen in the last year and got at least 3 out of 5 stars from me: The Switch, Welcome to the Rileys, Easy A, You Again, Date Night, Letters to Juliet, The Back Up Plan, The Last Song, Remember Me

Yeah, I don't have a couple of weeks, and I have seen it off and on. I was so excited when they started running it on ABC Family, but that didn't last long (I know you were upset, too, when they took it off!). That one I can get Brendan to watch or at least tolerate. He makes fun of me but I will watch Remember the Titans, The Rookie or Friday Night Lights (the movie) every time they're on. And, yes, I cry every time I watch The Rookie.

Oh, The Time Traveler's Wife is a good one, but I have the book and haven't read it yet. Did you read the book first?

I would suggest reading the book first if you can. I think the movie would be harder to understand without the book. I enjoyed both but, as usual, though the book was better.

Ha, Jo, I read your response before I saw what you were quoting, and I thought you were talking about Friday Night Lights again (which I've read a couple of times!).
You're right. There are very few movies that I like better than the book. How to Make an American Quilt is the one exception I can think of off the top of my head. I just like to use my imagination too much, I guess. I need to picture my characters how I see them by the description in the book.

I *really* liked the book Time Traveler's Wife...but heard the movie was awful.
Jo, you thought it did the book justice?
No, not really. When comparing, the book was way better and the movie underwhelming. But, as a stand alone movie, I liked it. I try to take movies based off of books for what they're worth and not compare too much. It's hard, but it helps me enjoy the movies more.

Is she the one in Morning Glory? I saw that on a couple of the lists.
Or, I'll just break down and watch The Notebook. Again. For the 1000th time. This is another one where I actually like the movie better than the book.

Yeah, she's in both movies.
