Have you ever had SUCH a bad customer service experience that you tell everyone you know? I was talking about this with my MIL this weekend and we were discussing the importance of reputation with business (especially small local ones).
Any horrible customer service experiences you never forgot? I have one that comes to mind:
I ordered a cake from Sweet Memories Bakery (on 63rd and May) for my BFF's wedding shower. I wanted them to make the cake look like her wedding invitation (which was mostly brown and pink with little brown flowers). I brought the invitation and told them exactly what I wanted and let them keep the invitation to refer to.
I went to pick up the cake on my way to the shower. I opened the box and the cake was GREEN. Solid green with RED letters that said "Congratulations A*** and R***"
WTF. I never uttered the words green or red when I ordered the cake. I was SO mad, especially because I centered the decoration of the table around this cake that I thought would be so awesome. I almost started crying, but there was no time to fix it. They tried to add stupid brown flowers on it before I left but it was so ugly. What's worse is they didn't try to compensate me for their mistake.... I should have demanded the cake for free but I was so flustered that I just paid and left.
That was in 2007 and I still remember it and tell people to never go there. Customer Service is so important for small businesses.

Re: Bad Customer Service
BTW... here is a picture of the cake. I really didn't want to take this picture, but the bride thought the story was funny so we did.
I already told ShansBride, JesseandBri and Steven&Jamie this this weekend but this incident is what made me think of this topic:

I've never really had an experience like that...yeah, people have been rude, but I've either not tipped or complained to management. That sucks that the cake was NOTHING you requested...I totally wouldn't go back there again.
And as for the ultrasound thing, I'd unlike the picture, too. I'd be so irritated!
