We're going to be a CD family!

DH and I went to a cloth diaper workshop this weekend and surprisingly, he is agreeable to cloth-diapering... this is rather shocking for me as I thought he'd walk away and be disgusted but he's surprised me!

I'm trying to not inundated him with choices right now but so far he's agreeable to pocket & AIOs so we'll go from there. I'm still working on him for some fitted ones for the newborn stage but for some reason, he didn't like those.

Re: We're going to be a CD family!

  • I am jealous. DH flat out refused. I am instead stock piling coupons for disposables. I hate the whole thing, but I also need to know that he will help with diaper-changing and he is just not even WILLING to explore cloth. It is not worth arguing any more.

  • I love this!!!!

While we're not TTC....quite yet.....I've got a crazy obsession with cloth diapers, they are just so cute and economical!  DH is semi-on board with discussing it when the time comes, so that makes me happy.

We have a few IRL friends that CD, and most of my cooking club friends do, so I think it helps him to have a point of reference and other guys to ask about how much harder it is.

  • yay yay yay yay yay!

So exciting, fitteds are SO easy at the beginning (and forever really) but you CAN buy some XS AIO's just tell him it is going to be a big investment.

Maybe the money end will convince him to try fitteds until LO fits in a pocket dipe

  • Yay!  We started a little later, but did prefolds mostly in the early days and I loved them.  Cheap, easy to clean, and not hard to fold once you got the hang of it.  I also got some fitteds made from prefolds for B to use.

  • Jealous!  I'm still hoping I can convert Alexi when we have #2, but he wanted nothing to do with CD with Mariela.  We shall see...

  • So excited for you!

Craig was only semi on board till he saw how a snappi worked. He was just scared he would stick the baby with a pin, so the snappi taking pins out of the equation was all it took. He loved the prefold for the youger age, now Norah is so squirmy he rather use the pockets or AIOs.

  • exciting. they're so cute. the last of my NB stash came in today - prefolds seconds - all i need now is a couple of snappies and a couple of wetbags for out & about and we'll be all set for 4 months or so. I also have some OS to try and see what we like best before getting a full stash.
