We are back from Clearwater and had a fantastic time!!! Thanks so much for all of your recommendations. We ended up eating at Cristino's and the Clearwater Cafe and loved both of those places. In fact, we didn't have a bad meal once. The beach there is absolutely gorgeous and we loved the Hyatt. Thanks for the tip on the north side of the hotel, we ended up on that side on the 15th floor which was perfect. I love seeing your siggy as I have numerous pictures of Winter, Panama and Hope. Thanks for the tip there too.
The only downside was (warning huge bummer alert), a guy actually jumped off the 8th floor pool deck and killed himself while we were in the pool area. It was midday on Tuesday. I morbidly decided to look once I heard what happened and regret doing so because they hadn't even taken his body away yet. It really was a disturbing ordeal but we tried to not think about it for the rest of our trip which was hard to do. Poor guy. I wouldn't let that change my opinion of the hotel though, it wasn't their fault and I'm sure it happens more often that you think. Just had to share that, sorry if it upsets you or anyone else.

OMG that's horrible! I'm sorry you witnessed that. How sad and disturbing. Those balconies made me a bit dizzy when I stepped onto them, but I never thought about someone going off the pool deck.
Besides that, I am so glad you had a great trip and enjoyed my recomendations. The Clearsky Cafe has such good breakfasts. Dinner wasn't bad either. We also stayed on the 15th floor and loved it. Did you go for a boat ride at all? Isn't Winter adorable?! I love how she would swim by and stick her eye out of the water to look at you and then start talking. Chatty dolphin. Hope didn't have her name yet when we were there. She was adorable too.
So glad you had a good time!
I got dizzy on our balcony too! That was really high up there. We had breakfast and dinner at the Clearsky Cafe and both were delicious! We did not end up taking a boat ride but we loved watching Little Toot and the Pirate ship make its way in and out of the dock area. We rented bicycles one day and road around the beach for an hour or so, that was a lot of fun! On one day we drove in St. Pete's to go to the Dali Museum and we also stopped by the Veterans Memorial Cemetary where DH's grandpa is buried (DH had never been there) and it's was a beautiful and poignant visit (he was a Purple Heart). Another day we drove up to Honeymoon Island and walked the nature trails there. So all-in-all we did quite a bit but we also relaxed and lounged a lot too. Overall, it was a great experience and we look forward to going back there.
I'm going to PM you my name and email info so if you want to look me up on Facebook to see my pics you can. If you don't want to, no worries!
Sounds like you had a blast! I really do love going there.
Got your PM. Sent you one back.
