Intro, I've been a lurkin'
Hey all, my name is Michelle. I live in the newport area with the dh and our cat and dog. I grew up in the l/a area. I'm a stay at home whatever and I volunteer at the waterville humane society.
FYI for copperdog & mianeisland bride-there's a gtg/fundraiser thing at the wville dog park next weekend, there was a sign on the inner gate. 12-5 both days, it says bring food, supplies, $$ to benefit the humane society. Just thought I'd let you guys know...Gracie and I will be there (one or both days)unless it's crappy.
Re: Intro, I've been a lurkin'
Welcome to the Nest (officially)! I'm Dani?le and I live in Lewiston with MH and our dog and cat. I'm from Away and MH is from Jay.
I have never been to Newport and only know that it is way up "there" and that photos I've seen indicate that it's gorgeous. LOL
Welcome to the board!
I'm Mel, I live over the border in Dover, NH with my DH, our 2 cats and my new baby son, Colby.
I love the sound of that.
I'm from Westbrook and DH is from York Beach, and although we're settled in NH now, I love the solid advice and great women on this board.
My Wedding Bio! Not updated in a LONG time!
Hello! I'm Kimberly. I have no idea where Newport is, so I assume it's somewhere up north.
I grew up in Virginia and moved to ME 9 years ago. I live in Sanford with DH, a 3 year old DD, and a naughty cat.
Thanks for letting me know!! I'd love to come out! I will see how Copper is being(he's been acting a little off this weekend) but will most likely bring him.
Also, I have called the HS to try and get into an orientation class to start volunteering there again(I did four or so years ago so I am guessing I should take a "refresher course") I think there is one in June.
And welcome.
My DH's parents live in Corinna so we pass through Newport often.
Welcome! I'm Kate. I grew up in the county but live in TN now, though I will always be a Mainer!
I have 2 cats, Patch and Bailey and DH and I are expecting a little girl pretty much any time now!
Welcome Michelle!
I feel like I've stopped for coffee in Newport a few times on the way back from Bangor.
I'm Jacki, currently living with two naughty critters (cat and dog) in Lisbon Falls, representing the divorced and dating again segment of the Nest, lol, my BF and his 2 yr old son are just down the road in Durham!
I saw your post to me in the "Central Maine-vets" thread a few weeks ago that Grahamsm posted and I was hoping you'd come back to hang out.
Hudson and I went to the dog park this weekend, but it sucked because no one was there (second time in a row I've driven down there and it's been just us). then he wasn't listening to me when I called him and I decided we might as well just leave because I got annoyed with him not listening. I need to invest in a long leash and really work on some basic training with him again....so he actually listens to me outside. Maybe we'll check out the fundraiser though...I did see that sign as we were leaving. I'm a sucker, so I'll probably bring him back because I know he loves it there (where there's actually other dog there!) even though we still really need to work on the recall thing!
That always happens to us too...we need to plan to go at the same time so they at least have each other!
Newport(we live in Pittsfield actually, about 5 minutes away) is maybe 15-20 minutes north of waterville...30 or so minutes south of Bangor. Not really way up there at all...it usually takes us about an hour & a half to get to Auburn.
Maineislandbride-did you go on saturday? I got there around 3:15 and the girl with the ridgeback was there and another lady with a small shepard mix. Maybe we just missed you? Penny and Holden showed up about 45 minutes later.
We really should co-ordinate our trips. I love when G has someone to play with.
She ate a ton of mud this trip and was sick all yesterday morning. Pooped in her crate overnight and spent her morning running outside to puke and have the "mud runs". I think I might change her name to Gracie Garbageguts.
The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware; joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware. -Henry Miller
