It went way too fast again, as usual. I was super productive on Saturday and got a bunch of errands and appointments taken care of, but then yesterday was totally wasted on a knitting project that I ended up having to unravel for the second time. Blah.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: How was your weekend?
Ugh, I HATE having to unravel. It's usually frustrating enough to make me scrap the entire project.
Saturday we did yard work then had a bunch of friends over for a cookout. Sunday we watched my sister's out-of-state college graduation on live streaming, went shopping, met my dad for lunch, the IL's stopped by to visit DS, and then I went to bed early.
Our little Irish rose came to us on March 5, 2010
Don't drink the water.

It was okay. We had some friends over to grill Friday night. We also babysat a pit bull for a local rescue, which was a ton of fun. Saturday night we went out for pizza with another couple who just moved here (they used to live across the street from my sister!) and then yesterday I took a painting class. Our subject was our pets! I had a lot of fun. I may do it again.
My piece
You painted that?! Holy crap, I take it you have some experience?
Seriously, Punky, that is amazing!
Thanks!
Oh yeah, I was quite artistic in HS. I took a lot of art classes- Drawing I and II, Painting I and II, Art I, II, then was accepted into Art III. But that was all a very, very long time ago.
I did not DRAW my dog- that was scanned onto the canvas for me. Then you paint over the picture. So my shading experience came in handy. But I could not have drawn her. I'm way too rusty for that. Not to mention eyes and faces were never my strong point.
Great painting, Punky!
I had a good weekend. Saturday DH and I went bowling and to see a friend's band play. Sunday DH indulged my craving for Thanksgiving foods by cooking an entire feast complete with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and green beans. Best. husband. ever.
Haha, that's awesome!
We also went and saw a friend's band play on Sat. night. Of course DH is a musician, so it's a common occurance for us. Aside from the parking and having to drive home from Cambridge to Grafton, the show was amazing!!
Sat. during the day we drove up to Meadowbrook Orchards in Sterling. Had a lovely lunch from their cafe while sitting outside by the apple trees
Yesterday I had a headache....don't think it could have been from the 2 beers from Sat. night....most likely weather induced. We did more stuff around the house, DH a little more than me, seems to be a common theme
Weekend went too fast! Looking forward to this coming up weekend!!
Punky, that painting is gorgeous. You are really talented.
My weekend was too short as usual. H got a lot of landscaping done while I got a lot of baking done. We had friends over Saturday night and went to see my family yesterday. I'm exhausted!
My DH is a musician too. He played in rock and punk bands for over a decade. We actually met at a metal show
Weekend was good but too short as always.
Saturday I switched over to my summer clothes (maybe I shouldn't have done that yet!!) and met up with a friend for coffee. Then DH tried a new restaurant by us for dinner and watched a movie at home.
Yesterday was just church and some errands. Then we went to a book launch party. It was for a parent of one of the kids that my DH has coached the past 3 years. It ended up being a much better time than we anticipated and the family is so super nice. Walked out of there with (another) offer to use their house on the vineyard this summer - they've offered it to us last summer too but couldn't get it together with the wedding and all. We'll definitely be using it this year though!
So it's your fault! Heh. And Punky, that painting is awesome!
I worked all weekend - today is Day 8 of 12 straight. I'm directing a training program that started on Friday night. So I was here 12 hours Friday, 12 hours Saturday, and 10 1/2 hours yesterday. Today, we have class til 830 pm, and I got here around 745 am. Yesterday was brutal - 70+ people crammed into a classroom with no A/C, and they were painting outside our classroom/in the open area just outside. It reeked.
So yeah. I would like a nap, but we don't end til Friday. I'm not moving from the couch this weekend.
I know!!! Sorry guys!
Hi all!
My weekend could have been better, I suppose.
I had a wake to attend on Friday, and a funeral on Saturday. Belgh. Saturday night was DH's cousin's graduation party. Sunday we did absolutely nothing.
Upside to Friday night though - we interviewed a new daycare provider for Sami, and she's right down the street! She's awesome, and we start with her on June 20th!

This one is for people who teach/train/consult in the leadership development field. It's actually an interesting topic, (unlike one of the other programs I direct that focuses on trade policy *yawn*), and the participants are really nice. It's just a really packed schedule, and it doesn't help when our facilities department falls down on the job. (The A/C wasn't on yesterday because, despite us telling them 301 times that we were going to be here all weekend, they didn't set it.)
I spent Sunday planting my front garden. I finally set the little bricks, bought an urn and planted some new plants. We also walked around the South End open studios and bought a painting from a North Shore artist we have admired for a few years. Other than that, it was a quiet weekend. Busy week planned. Tomorrow I'm directing a handbell concert at Old South Church, should be fun!
Too funny, I met DH at a metal show...we were living in Orlando at the time. He had just gotten off of work and was in a shirt and khakis, totally stood out from the crowd.
He played for a band in Orlando, which was our reason for moving to CA. Was in a band here, but they all got too busy. He's been practicing acoustic stuff now and hopefully will be playing out by the summer.
That's awesome! I love painting, but I'm not very patient and I tend to give up before the paintings are finished... I have a few in my painting bag that need some attention! Your painting looks wonderful. What a cute puppy!
