...in 3 days! We leave for Italy on Thursday morning and I. can. not. wait.
Just fussing over what to pack now, as I hear SO many conflicting ideas from various websites. Some stress the importance of bringing trainers everywhere (so not my style) and other say meh, wear flats or wedges if you want to. Purse vs. moneybelt? So many opinions! I think I've decided to do what I usually do: Whatever I want!
DH and I travel frequently, and I always try to learn some of the country's lingo, be sure I'm dressed to blend with locals (mostly; I mean I just don't want to not wear a head scarf in a religious country, etc.) and try to really enjoy the culture not just the touristy things.
But I think I'll be my smart self, and just be safe, and look as cute as possible...tho I DO agree with no stilettos in cobblestones...but I'm not an idiot after all! ;-)
Re: I too will be on vacay...
We're going to fly into Milan, and head straight to Bellagio. Then Venice, Florence/Tuscany, three undecided adventure days, and then Rome. :-)
Yes...I fear gelato and pasta will be forever ruined back here in the US after this trip...ha
Verrrry jealous you're seeing Paris!
I WILL on all fronts :-)
DH planned a trip in the fall for us to do Paris and Germany and then this work trip came up. So instead of heavy sightseeing and ruining all the stuff i planned to do with DH I have decided to eat my way thorugh Europe. I packed gym clothes in case I need to work off some of the calories to fit back into my jeans to get home.
