Birthday invite question

Hi Ladies.. I am have been MIA lately, just super busy with work. I have question, I am putting together Morgan's birthday invites and I am trying to save money and I created one in a powerpoint this weekend, I wanted to use 12 pictures of her and some wording with some clip art I found, but I am having a hard time figuring out how to print it. I have saved it as a jpeg and sent it to Wal-Mart, but it's just not printing right. Is there a free software that makes it easier to create? I have tried all of the places online I could think of (Target, CVS, Wal-Mart, etc) but all of their invites are pre setup and I really like the one I made. I guess if all else fails I can just pay the etsy seller the money to do it for me but it seems silly since I did it in powerpoint.

Any suggestions?

Re: Birthday invite question

  • I printed the pp slide as a 4x6 pic for Lucas' invites.  I had to mess with the size of the slide to make the resolution correct.

  • Did you try vistaprint?  I usually have decent luck with them.

I did, but because I waited to the last minute, the shipping cost is pretty high to get the invites this week.

  • I had to multiply it by 4 I think.  So I wanted to print a 4x6 pic, I set the slide to 16x24 then designed it at that size.  I uploaded them to meijer because I wanted matte finish and that was the only store in the area that had matte.  Then I glued the pic to a 5x7 piece of cardstock to make it heavier and bigger to fit in the envelope.

  • You could always also make it in Word and have it printed at Kinko's on cardstock.  Depending on the size you want, you could always get two or three per 8.5x11 sheet of paper.  You'll just have to cut them out.

    Ohh.  Gotcha.

I'm so glad all you ladies had kids before me so I can take notes on when I need to do things.  :)
