AW: DH got his promotion!

I'm so pumped for him!

There had been a freeze within the Corps, and they hadn't been bringing up any new Junior Officers through training for over a year, so there was a lot of concern that the JOs in Kyle's class would be stunted on promoting up to Lieutenant. A few weeks ago, they finalized the budget, and approved a new class of officers, so as of yesterday DH is officially a Lieutenant Junior Grade, woohoo! This is also piggybacking on his two year service promotion, so he basically got two promos at once. We didn't think this was going to happen for a long time with the freeze, so it is a huge weight off both of our backs since I'm leaving work in 40 days (not that I'm counting...), so we'll have a couple of weeks of double income at a higher level before I stop. Good job lovie!

Thanks so much girls, it's a huge relief to both of us! Not to mention how ridiculously cute it was to watch him tell his dad over the weekend, and then get his box of upgraded swag to have sewn on to his uniform- no more butter bars! He's worked really hard and has felt a bit worn out & frustrated recently, so I this will do wonders for his mentality as we get ready for the big move down South.

A HUGE congrats to Kyle! What a big relief and boost as you head into parenthood! It's been a tough couple of months as lots of gov't promotions have been put on hold/frozen and it's great to start seeing them happen again! Especially when they go to people as deserving as Kyle. :-)

I'm going to do my best to channel this good job juju into positive job hunting/hiring for all of you ladies who are out there pounding the pavement looking for new and better jobs, hopefully this is a sign of the times to come for everyone!
