Let me preface this by saying that Caroline and I have horrible colds and she's teething so we're both at our wits ends today
I decided to indulge myself with a 20 second? head plant on the island today. My head was killing me and I thought that would be the little boost I needed. I realize it's too quiet and look over to find my child eating an eggshell out of the trash! Yeah, that's good on so many levels
I love that my little imp is becoming more and more of a person and doing more things, but oh on days like this I miss just plopping her in the swing!
Re: Toddlerhood
Ewww, what a little stinker!
At first I read your "head plant" as you fell and smashed your head on the island! Glad that was not right.
And this:
scares me.
I totally agree w/ the newborn to 8 months being easy. They were relatively immobile, didn't have much attitude yet, etc. at that time. The days I'm home alone w/ Katie are a cakewalk compared to Jake's toddler stuff.
MIT - just wanted to add though that you had a MUCH more high-needs newborn than most, so for you it may well be the opposite!

I have to agree too! I look at newborns in their car seats in stores and restaurants with envy sometimes as Eli throws stuff or runs away. Although I have to say toddlerhood is more rewarding too now that they can talk, show affection and make you laugh more than ever.
Oh no!
MIT - No, just a moment of weakness with my head all stuffed up. The cold countertop felt nice
I totally look at the babies in the carseats in grocery carts with envy and Caroline is good in the stores LOL I just know what's coming to me. It is more fun to get smiles and laughter back at you when you shopping though.
Oh yeah. She's gone from never being sick to having this thing linger and then the teeth coming in. I definitely can't hold it against her. Especially, when she holds her blanket to her face and goes "aw." Melts my heart!
