Dinner help for tonight-need creative ideas

I am making turkey burgers and sweet potato fries. DH usually makes the burgers but they are sometimes, well, bland.

What can I put in the ground turkey to mix it up a bit?

TIA

  • I do this with ground chicken, but it's really good with turkey too!

    - couple scoops of hummus

    - lemon juice

    - lots of oregano

    - salt and pepper

    - garlic powder

    - greek seasoning (it's something in a yellow container from the grocery store -- I dont think it adds that much flavor though).

It's sooo soooo good! I put them on pitas or sandwich flats with some cucumber/greek yogurt sauce and it's amazing! The hummus makes the burger so juicy!

  • Mix ground turkey with an egg, finely chopped onion and garlic, salt, pepper, and whatever herbs you want.

We tend to chop up jalapenos in ours and do mexi-burgers with guac (or just sliced avocado), tomato, onion, and pepperjack cheese.

I know sweet potato fries are good, but have you done the skinny taste zucchini sticks?  They totally give you a "fry" fix, but it's zucchini!

It's a summer staple, DH is amazing at his burger making skills.  We get all sorts of fancy burgers during grilling season since he's so creative.

  • I have a great recipe for spicy turkey burgers if you want it?

This reminds me to make these even if my husband hates ground turkey.

  • Spicy Turkey Burgers

    12 oz ground turkey

    1/2 t oregano

    1/4 t cayenne pepper

    1/2 t. cumin powder

    1/2 t garlic powder

    1 egg white

    2 T salsa

Mix all the ingredients except the turkey together.  Add turkey and mix throughly, form into burger and cook 6 to 8 minutes on each side.

They have just the right amount of kick, my mom isn't a fan of spice and she loves these.
