I think this came up recently, but where do you recommend we search for a house to rent? I've found a few sites but they don't seem great.
We have two dogs - one 15 lbs who is crated when we're not home and one 65lb dog who we let run free but could confine him to one room or something.
Or do you have a home that you want to rent to us?
We're open to location - planning on it being temporary....
Re: Rental Homes
Thanks Amy!
I've looked on Realtor and haven't seem much but I've only been looking for half an hour or so and that includes other websites. We're working with a realtor who is selling our house and looking for new houses with us but.....I have a feeling we're going to need something temporary. I'm not quite sure what temporary means yet. We're hoping to sign a 3 month lease and then month to month after that. And of course we'd pay a premium to bring our dogs.
Yikes!
I know, it is a frustrating process (finding a rental). I got super agressive with it and know how hard it is with pets. I know it isn't ideal, but what about one of those long term apartment type places if it is only going to be about 3 months or so?
We just rented our home out using Craigslist, but I know we were hesitant about listing it there too. So, I understand why you don't necessarily want to. I think the hardest part you might run into is finding a landlord that will give you a 3 month lease with a month to month after that. Most landlords want a minimum of a 12 month lease.
Good luck!
We listed our house on Craigslist when we rented it last year. We got a contract signed within 3 days of listing and had showings scheduled within less than 6hrs after the post. I think we were lucky but I wouldn't discart all of the homes listed on craigslist, it's still a good source. Your realtor should also be able to help you with that ( my realtor would if we were to need it). Unfortunately your premium might be huge due to the short term, nice places might want at least a 12 month lease. Our renter wanted to sign an 18 month (his choice).
We found the house we are living in on realtor.com, we looked on craigslist but didn't find anything. I liked the map feature on realtor because we were looking in a certain radius of DH's job.
We will be looking again in a few months due to DH's office moving. I am not looking forward to it. Good luck!
Thanks ladies!
I know I'm asking for a lot between the dogs and wanting short term. Yikes! Maybe I will look into a long-term apartment. I've also considered living with the in-laws but.....hmmmm.....
Thanks again!
