WWYD?

About a month ago, I asked a friend for her new address as she just moved from Cincy to Atlanta. Then I mailed her a wedding card with a $50 BBB gift card because I couldn't go to her wedding. I also gave her address to my sister for my shower invites.

She sent me an email yesterday asking if I had mailed her something because nothing has come yet, I said a wedding card and a shower invite, she's received neither.  I verified her new address, and it's right.

So should I wait it out and see if it's returned? Wait and see if she gets it? I really can't afford to go buy another gift card for her, but should I send her something else? Ugh, I wish I sent a check, then I could just stop payment. Lesson learned I guess!

Re: WWYD?

  • Do you have the receipt for the gift card? You could probably call BB&B & see if the gift card has been used. If not, they will probably cancel it & issue a new one.

  • No, I got it at Publix and put the activation receipt in with the gift card.

  • In that case I would probably just wait a little bit longer and see if it gets returned (that can take a while). If not, I don't think you're obligated to send something else. Just explain nicely that you sent something to the address she gave you. Personally, I wouldn't want a friend to have to send a gift twice.
