So I called to schedule a spray tan appointment, last summer it was $30, now its $50! So instead of 36 w/ tip it would be 60 w/ tip... UGH! So now I have to go to another place that is 10 minutes away and will be $40 w/ tip. I liked that she came to my house.... Oh well! She said that they were a brand new company and that gas is really expensive, sure but a 67% increase is too much

Part of the Obama imposition of the "tanning tax" which was originally aimed at taxing tanning bed places (as part of the health care reform plan).... Not saying taxing spray tanning is right, I just think that arena got the short end of the stick.

That definitely is a big jump. She should have had a smaller increase for existing customers. I mean now she's lost out on the $30+ she would have made from you!

I tried to broker a deal with her, but she wasn't having it. So I nicely told her I found another place that is w/n 10 miles from my home. And I'm also a frequent customer...

I don't think there's a tax on spray tans, just on the tanning beds/lights that give you cancer, right?

Sam, that is ridiculous that she increased her prices so much. Does she work independently or for a company? Where is she coming from? I wonder if it's really about gas or what the deal is. You should get a loyal-customer discount.

Yes, this is right!

And that's a LOT to pay for a spray tan. The place I go to charges $40, but they are always running specials. Maybe try to look for a coupon or a special promotion at the new place?
