Re: Prized Possession
I think this is pretty self-explanatory...
ETA: Clearly, I dont have many sentimental material objects...

A collage that DH made me when we were in high school. It was for an anniversary (God only knows which one, high schoolers celebrate every anniversary possible, lol). He isn't very crafty, but he got a bunch of pictures and stuff together, cut them out, and "pasted" them together inside of a picture frame.
Pasted is in quotes because he thought his sister's chapstick was a glue stick. He found this out an hour before we were going to exchange gifts when he picked up the paper they were mounted on and they all fell off, covered in red goop. He frantically had to wipe off each picture, rearrange them, and glue them before I got there.
I like it because it makes me laugh and it's probably the last craft he'll ever make me, lol.
I have a picture of my grandmother as a little girl, with her mother and grandmother. I love having it because, when I have a child, I can show him/her a picture of his/her great-great-great grandmother. Crazy!
I also have a book of stories my grandfather told me when I was a kid. My aunt found all the bits of paper he had written them on, and had them made into a book for me. I still can't read it, it makes me cry.
My Nikon D5000. I am so in love with this camera and I can't wait to get another lense for it! Plus any photos I have. They can never be replaced and I am very picky about how they are handled.
or
My first 5k bib. I have it framed and it's on my wall in our room and I look at it everyday to remind myself that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.
My copy of When We Were Very Young by A.A. Milne (the author of Winnie the Pooh, Christopher Robin stories, etc.)
It's a book of poems that my dad read me when I was a kid, and it was his book when he was a kid. I know several of the poems by heart and I can't wait to read them to my kids. The book itself is not in great condition, but it's probably my favorite thing I own.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
This isn't my most prized, but it's one of my favorites:
My most prized material possession would either be my Nikon D90 that H bought me as a wedding gift or my MacBook Pro that I bought myself my senior year of college. It's still kicking, though the keys stick now because my BIL spilled a drink on it...I was LIVID! Thankfully it still works, he may not be alive if he had killed it.
My most prized possession for sentimental reasons would have to be any of the many mementos that I have from my travels. They're random objects like wine corks, rocks from the beach in Maine I used to vacation at when I was young, a bottle of Mount Gay Rum from our honeymoon, etc. Additionally, countless photographs from throughout my life.
ETA: My newest prized possession would have to be the necklace that Alex (aka Joel) bought me for my first Mother's Day. It's Alex's birthstone and it's simple and beautiful. I've worn it every day since it was given to me.
The claddagh necklace from my family's jewelry store in Ireland that my uncle brought me back after a trip.
The Tiffany bracelet H got for me for our 1 year anniversary and that my family replaced the lock clasp on last year for my birthday because it was unwearable from use, now it represents all of the most the important people to me.
My law degree and bar card. It symbolizes triumph over extreme adversity.
Stand up for something you believe in.
This bear is very special to me because it was the first gift I received on the day I was born. The bear was a gift from my Grandpa, the scarf it has on it's head is something that my Grandma made for me and it's been on the Care Bear ever since. So you're looking at a little piece of history right here!
This is my grandfather's wedding band. When he passed away, my grandmother sent it away to have it shaped into a heart pendant to wear on a necklace. Right before she died, she asked me to take care of it for her while she was in the hospital. It's been mine ever since.
Wherever I am, there's always Pooh
There's always Pooh and me.
Wherever I go,
He wants to go.
Where are you going today says Pooh?
Well, that's very odd 'cause I was too.
Let's go together
Says Pooh, Says He.
Let's go together says Pooh!
Currently (to be changed in Oct):
Also, Santa brought me an Oscar the Grouch doll when I was 2. Ever since then, I always cuddle with him at night. Winston once tried to steal him from me and broke one of Oscar's eyes

One of the last times I saw my dad we were in a jewelry store and he was giving me a diamond that was my grandmothers to mount in a necklace. By the time the necklace was done he wasn't alive to go pick it up with me so he never saw how it turned out. It's just a small silver drop with the diamond mounted in it, but it means a lot to me.
Also, there's a letter that my dad wrote to me when I graduated high school and he talks about why he's proud of me. I can't even open the drawer that the letter is in without crying.
My Margaret Furlong ornament collection. They look like this:
Plus, there are shells, hearts, crosses, other designs, all made from shells. My mom started this collection for me when I was a little girl. The angels are dated, so I have every one since 1984, which happens to be every one ever made. I also have a bunch of the other designs that she's gotten me over the years. The first year we moved into our house I hung them up on a garland over our french doors, because I thought that was safer than a tree, which the kitties can easily knock over. Five minutes after I had hung every ornament, the whole garland came crashing down. I screamed bloody murder. Seriously, I've never screamed like that in my life. I just knew the whole collection was going to be in bits. I broke like 7 of them that couldn't be repaired. Glue some others back together. Luckily, all of the important ones weren't hurt and my mom has replaced some since then, because she's steller.
Oh goodness. I think I have a lot!!!
My e-ring/wedding bands for obvious reasons.
Old family photographs. I'm a sucker for photos and luckily I've been given all of the oldest family photos (like of my grandmother's grandparents...that kind of old). They are so special to me.
My (maternal) grandmother's e-ring and wedding band.
A memory book that I gave my (paternal) grandmother to fill out...it's sort of like a family history book. I wanted to have it for our future children, so they could read about the family from my grandmother's perspective. There's a lot in there about the family that I didn't even know, so it's very special. She even put some old photographs in it.

this necklace:
Guy gave it to me our first Christmas together, and I wore it as my something blue in our wedding.
I'm super late but I'm kind of troubled that I can't think of anything. Possibly some of my Simon Pearce glassware, but that seems really lame. I have one bowl I really love and always have out on a table somewhere (the one we have is larger than these but the same style)
Or even though we don't use it often, our silver, which was my great-great-aunt's (no picture).
