I can't believe they use to allow them to stay until they were 5 yrs old!!

  • Wow.  I watched a thing on lock up in the U.S. where there was one facility that you had to interview for and get into the wing to keep your child but I think their max was 18months and then the child had to leave.

    In a country like Africa I'm sure they're right...most of these women have absolutely nobody so it's etiher stay there or go to an orphanage...however I can't imagine how psychologically hard it is on these poor children.

     

  • In India, when a mother is in jail, the child can stay with them until at least 5 years old. They strongly believe that no one can care for a child the way a mother can.. and that no one else should.
