I need a luxury spa/resort recommendation pls
Something preferably within 2hrs from the bay. Something that is fairly reasonable on the pocketbook.
TIA!
Re: I need a luxury spa/resort recommendation pls
What features are you looking for?
We went to Indian Springs a few years ago for the day to do the mud baths and massages, but it looks like the rooms can be about $200/night and come with nice amenities including the mineral water pool, free bikes, etc.
Hmmm...well the spa at the Grand Wailea is more than two hours away, but that was the greatest spa I've ever been to ANYWHERE. Has EVERYTHING you'd ever want (besides being cheap, lol).
Sorry, that's no help.
It might be a little farther than you're looking for... but a few years ago DH and I stayed at the Stanford Inn in Mendocino. The property is gorgeous. And they have a vegetarian restaurant in the hotel and grow much of their food in their own gardens (DH and I are definitely meat eaters, but we loved the food there, especially breakfast). They have nice rooms, spa treatments, kayak rentals, etc.
We went in November, so the prices were probably better than during peak times, but it was definitely affordable. They have package deals too (which is what we did).

For a getaway, Silverado Resort in Napa is pretty awesome (and if you sign up for the newsletter, they have some pretty awesome deals).
If you're just looking for a spa day, Burke Williams is amazing (SF or SJ). Their regular prices can be a little high but they can have some awesome deals. I just went last Saturday and it was $130 for a 50 minute massage and parafin wax pedicure. But the facilities are to die for, huge hot tub (like a pool), sauna, steam room, mist room, all the amenities you could imagine AND if you ask really nicely they'll make you up a sliced fruit plate with frozen bananas.
Half Moon Bay Ritz Carlton?

They DO have food! I was there the other day (SF) and had a full day of service. I was starving. I asked if they had anything besides the apples they had out. I was told no! I guess I didn't ask nicely enough.
oops, double post... will delete when the nest lets me.
