Best place to buy running shoes?
So we have our first 5k coming up, and I need some new running shoes. I've never put a lot of thought into buying them, but I've never considering running for serious, either.
Where should I start? I know I should get them fitted - any recs?

I'm pretty sure they do fittings, and most (if not all) employees are actual runners and know their product

I don't know when your first race is, but I would definitely break those puppies in before racing in new sneaks

Is this the place by Sam's Club? if so then go there! These guys are AWESOME! They fitted me and I would have NEVER known the shoes that work for me are totally different than what I'm used to. They know their stuff!
agree! They know what they're talking about and try to fit you with the best shoe for you. Make sure you have current running shoes so they can see what you have now. Also, they give a 15% discount for some companies like Wells Fargo, Wellmark, etc... , so be sure to ask. I took my ID badge.
I agree with Fitness Sports. That's where I got my first pair of good running shoes.
I bought my last pair at The Running Room. It's on Mills Civic out by Jordan Creek in a strip mall on the opposite side of the street from Wal-Mart (how is that for directions? :oP). They were also great!
Totally agree with Fitness Sports. Plus they are having foot analysis this weekend on Saturday.
