About a month ago, i lost my job at the firm i was at. Long story short, people are crazy and office politics are BS. That was rough, but the good news is DH was super supportive and immediately had a plan that we start our own firm together. He has been working for himself for about a year now doing criminal defense, and his business is really picking up, so that's what we are doing. I am going to be doing a bit of criminal defense and mostly personal injury. We are opening another office in the next county over to expand our reach, and the furniture gets delivered tomorrow. I'm so excited! I can't wait to have an office and start sending out advertisements to get my side of business going. Luckily I took some cases with me from my old job and have gotten a couple so far.
Needless to say, I love working for myself. It's such a great feeling and I am happier now than I have ever been. Of course there's more anxiety now, but turns out losing my job was a blessing. And now I will have more time to spend on the nest until business picks up 
So I won't be just lurking anymore, I will post too!
So send good thoughts to DH and I that our business does well and we don't kill each other
