flowers or edible arrangement for birthday?

we're missing my friend's big birthday party this weekend - so I want to send her something on her birthday.  Debating flowers vs. edible arrangements - which would you rather have??

FWIW - she's a WAHM/SAHM w/ 2 school aged kids and one preschooler.

Re: flowers or edible arrangement for birthday?

  • My vote is for an edible arrangement. Mmm so good!
  • I would prefer an EA with chocolate covered fruit over flowers any day.

This. I can't wait until someone sends me an EA again.

  • Kathryn, I thought you were not a fan of edible arrangements, or did I get you confused with someone else?

Personally I would choose fruit over flowers.

you're correct - but I know I am in the minority.  I'm will follow the Nest's decision on this one!

  • I am a flowers girl. There is nothing like a big bouquet of flowers showing up at your door to give you the warm fuzzies I can buy myself fruit dipped in preservative goo any day.
  • Edible arrangement!

  • My concern with edible arrangements is if there are enough people in the house to eat it all before it goes bad. But if she has 3 kids, then it should be good.

  • If I had to pick between the 2, I would choose the Edible Arrangement, only if it included the chocolate covered fruits.
  • I think EAs are fabulous - however, I'm picky with my fruit and fruit salad so it might not be the best idea for everyone.  My vote....Mrs Fields Nibbler bouquet!  Who doens't love mini cookies!?

I'd actually go with flowers over EA.  I think EA's are way too over priced for what they are.  You could get a big gorgeous bouquet for a lot less than you'd spend on EA, plus flowers typically last longer than already cut fruit.

    Agreed!!

  • Definitely the edible arrangement. I love flowers, but they die so fast. At least w/ edible arrangement everyone can enjoy the gift.

  • I'd prefer an edible arrangement or a cookie bouquet- I usually send a cookie bouquet over flowers when someone close-ish to me has a baby.
