Help me pick a dress, please!

My cousin is doing a black&white wedding the first week of June and I'm looking for a cute dress.  Help me pick.  I really like A because it's flowy.. but I really like B because it's party-ish.  Although it's b&w, it's outdoors at my uncles mansion.  Since My wedding, my waist is the same size, but my asss and hips are back to my standard large.  Which would you pick??

B

  • I love A.  It looks more formal.  B's cute, but maybe not so much for a wedding.

  • This is what I was afraid of lol

I really, really like A but I'm super paranoid that the flowy part will look weird cause the front will be flat and the back will be BAM.  Ya know.  I don't want it to look like it's pulling the material to cover my asss.

That's why I threw B in there cause it allows my asss to be free lol

  • I love A so that's my vote!

I picked A because you said you carry your weight in your butt/hips, and I think dress B would draw more attention to that area since it's the lighter color on the bottom.  Both are really cute though and I'm sure you'll look fabulous in either one.

  • I also was "blessed" with a giant backside...and agree that it's really difficult to find a dress that flatters that.

That being said, I love dress A.  Dress B is cute, but not nearly as cute as the other.  I also agree with PP's that A is more dressy and "wedding appropriate.  But I guess it depends on the material and which flows better, and "clings" less!

Me too, and I do tend to like dresses like B better for that reason but I think that A looks more formal/wedding-like. What about something like this:

One Shoulder Rosette Dress - maurices.com

I have this in grey and I love love love it! I have another dress that is a spandex/cotton on top and a satin on the bottom and I love it also, like this:

Polka Dot Party Dress - maurices.com

Love this!!!  Where can I purchase??!

  • Chiming in, it's from Maurices! I think she said she has a promo code too for online!
  • Crap!  We don't have any of those around me.  The only place I've ever seen one is in West Virginia.. hey wait!  That's where the wedding is... wonder if I could get it while I'm in town before the wedding..!?
  • Can you order it online?

  • Maybe I could order online and have it shipped to my cousins house where I stay.. that kinda freaks me out because what if it doesn't fit my bootie lol

I could bring my "go-to" dress just in case I guess.  I just don't like how this one hugs my backside when I tried it on the other day! Sad I have two weeks to fix that lol

  • UPS and Fed Ex love me because I order everything online.

If it's two weeks away, couldn't you have it shipped to your house so you know ahead of time if it will fit or not?

And I know what you mean...everything hugs my booty and it's not cute...at all!

Can you tell I'm not an online shopper lol  I guess you're right I could have it to my house way before I'd be leaving.  Thank you!!

Haha!  Well, now that I say that, I hope it makes it to you!  I guess every place is different.  But surely two weeks would be plenty.  Since you have a timeframe, though, I would probably call just to see what their processing time is so you can choose the right shipping option.

And of course as soon as I say you should do that, I got a shipping notice from an order I placed with Zulily (sort of like Gilt for babies) probably two weeks ago.  But they always take a long time, which is annoying.  Of course, I ordered something to give to my nephew while he's here, and now it won't make it before they leave.  So I'm kind of upset about that.

  • Oh you're kidding!!  That's the freakn worst!!  When you plan it so perfectly then it doesn't arrive on time.. so annoying!

They say the dress is in stock and ships in 1-2 biz days so I should be fine.

  • Awesome.  Now you just need Ashlee!

Good luck!  I hope it works out.
