Have you read the books? They made me love Damon even more.
The books get so crazy, I dont know how they're going to translate them to the TV show, but they've changed the show so much that I dont think it will even matter.
I wont give that last book away, but I have to say that I was seriously left thinking "this CANNOT be the end!!"
Based on the path the show has taken, I don't think they plan to stick to the books at all, and for once I don't mind. I like the show as it is except for the lack of a certain person dying/becoming a vampire that I just wish they would take the plunge and do already. It drives me nuts.
Oh, and did you hear what happened with the author? They took the series away from her. Basically she was hired to write the series so when they realized she was going to go in a direction they didn't like, they fired her. Someone else will be writing the last (potentially...) book. It all had to do with who Elena ends up with. The publishers wanted one thing and she wanted another. I know who it is but I won't spoil it for you.
I feel like you have to keep the books and the show completely separate. they're just so different, they never really tie together. If you have a website or something that talks about the author debacle, send it my way. That's interesting and kinda sad, she's been writing these books for I think over 10 years.
