Hello. I've waited here for you. Everlong<3<br>

Re: pediatrician f/u question

  • most pediatricians do a consultation.  so tell them you are preg and want to meet the doctor.  for the most part the doc will do the talking and explain the practice.  otherwise you want to make sure they have good hours and availability (will they see you on a weekend, do they keep late hours if you're working or weekend hours, who do you talk to if you have a question, can you call 24/7, etc), have them explain how often they see you in the hospital (this varies by hospital policies and pedi practices) make sure you are on the same page as far as immunizations go, and most importantly make sure you feel comfortable/ confident in them.  this is someone you are about to see a lot of for the next few years of your life. good luck!

  • text me your email, I have a sheet of questions I made up for the consultation.
  • Melis gave us a recommendation, as did a coworker of Dh's for another Dr in our group.  We went with Melis's person 1st (the hospital called him because I never got around to it).  We love him.

This baby he knows the C-section and said he'll be there Saturday morning to meet her.  He was there al 4 mornings following the delivery with Jack.

  • we met with one pediatrician and liked him, but had another appointment because we weren't sure if he was "the one" lol

The day I was supposed to meet with our pediatrician I went into labor.

    So... I just picked them.

    been happy.

I ended up asking around and got recommendations from a bunch of friends.  Turns out, the one that was recomended is the same pediatrician as my step son.  We ended up going with their practice w/o the consultatoin and my doctor's office called theirs.  One of the pedi's was in the room during my c-section and the pedi visited us everyday (4 + discharge on the 5th day) in the hospital...our doctor ended up coming in 2 of the times.

we love their practice...DD has seen three of the doctors and they are all very nice as are the nurses.

  • Definately set up an appt. You want to know hours, weekend schedule, are sick/healthy kids kept seperate, on call situations, insurance they accept.

i like Lawerence Park Pediatrics, they are part of Westchester Medical Group and located on Central Avenue.  I use to work for them years ago and love their docs.
