clinique skincare users come on in!

Hi gals. hope all is well.  i am on week two of the 3 step system. i can see a difference in my skin, however i did break out last week more than usual.  is that normal?  now it seem so be calming down and look healthier.  i am using formula 1.  when at the store the lady had me try formula 2 but the astringent was very very tingly and not in a good way.  i am concerned that formula 1 may not be good enough but 2 is too harsh.  thoughts?

sometimes all you really need in life is a pink wig.

Re: clinique skincare users come on in!

  • i've been using clinique for 10 years. i see one woman at the nyc bloomingdale's store and she sets me up - she changes it up every now and then for me. i haven't used the 3 step as is in a long time.

what i also like about her is that she pairs clinique products to other company's products.

i just went back to her 2 weeks ago because i strayed and it showed. my skin started looking better in 3 days!  i have combo skin.

right now, this is my morning routine:

aveeno positively radiant cleanser, clinique mild clarifying lotion (the one that's greenish and creamishe looking),  redness something or other moisturizer and neutrogena liquid ultra sheer sunscreen since the reddness thing doesn't have spf.

    at night:

aveeno cleanser, same clarifying lotion, total turnaround cream, moisyure surge cream

so my point is they have other astringents other than the number ones. this is what i am using:

  • i'm heading over to see her now - she gave me a 2 week supply of the moisturizer and i need more. she wanted to be sure it made a difference first.

i always have the total turnaround and moisture surge at home. i don't let them run out!

  • im no help, i use the acne solutions line because i have terrible skin.

  • I love clinique products but their toner/cleanser made me breakout really really bad so i wont' use that anymore
  • I have combo skin and have always used #2 clarifying lotion and it's never bothered me.  but I've been using the 3 step for many years.  I think with any new product there's a chance of breakouts, but if you said it's clearing up then maybe it was just the switch over?  keep going with what you have and if you break out again maybe try a small bottle of #2.

Melanie - I am due to go to the counter this weekend for more clarifying lotion and I'm tempted to try the one you're using.  I didn't know they had that one.
