ready for MH to come home (another vent)

I am SO ready for Matt to come back from Sweden!  Two weeks of separation is too long for us and I really want to see him.  Especially since we've had so much good news in the last week - good friends had a baby, got an unexpected wedding invitation from two people from Matt's old office who looked up to him as a mentor, and one of my besties from college got engaged!  I really want to talk about all the good news with him in person. I also want to celebrate his finishing his first year of grad school!  I've planned a surprise pub night for Saturday night and am dying to see the look on his face when this really eclectic group of friends shows up.  :-)

52 or so more hours until I pick him up.  Stupid required "international residency."  Grad programs should not require a two week international separation.  Grrr.

  • Ohhhh, I hate to say it, but this is so cute! You miss your man. You want to talk to him and snuggle him and love him! Isn't it great that you have a best friend for a husband?!?

I think it's so cool, too, that Matt has such an awesome wife who plans a surprise pub night to welcome him back from a 2 week separation!

    Ditto!

  • Aw, I'm sorry you're missing Matt but glad to hear that he will be home soon! I agree with PPs that it's pretty kick-@ss that you're throwing him a surprise get-together on Saturday, I'm sure he'll love it!

It's never fun having your spouse away for a long time, especially when they are as far away as Matt is! I do my best to use humor and distractions to get myself through, which helps. As I always say to Kyle before he goes to sea: "I can't miss you if you don't go away!" Wink

  • I hate when DH is away, and it's rarely for more than a few days.  Here's to a quick 52 hours (even less now)!

2 weeks is hard... and especially with time changes and such. Glad it's a short term thing though and he'll be done with this part of his program!
