Questions to Ask OBGYN

Hi Ladies. I have my yearly appointment with my gynocologist tomorrow. DH and I are planning on starting TTC next month. I wanted to get together a list of questions that I could ask the doctor regarding going off BC and preparing to get pregnant (changes that need to be made, what to expect, etc.) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Questions to Ask OBGYN

  • I really didn't have any other questions, other than what to look for and what to do next? The doc just told me to enjoy trying and good luck! Sorry. I know that's not really helpful, but I'm not sure of anything really specific to ask at this point.

  • I only had questions around incompetent cervix since I have had bad paps in the past, as well as the LEEP procedure.  Otherwise, I mainly voiced my concerns of my age, being on BC for 18 years, etc.

Pretty much what Snoopy said, which was to enjoy trying and good luck.

  • My OBGYN just prescribed me prenatal vitamins and said, "the next time I see you, you should be pregnant".  Yeah, still not pregnant....

  • I've not been down this road yet, but do remember not only to ask questions but remind the doctor of any conditions or concerns you have with family health or your history. Even if you've been going to her for awhile doctors are human and can still forget things! My ob-gyn had forgotten about my scoliosis (since she wasn't the one who diagnosed or treated me for it) until I brought it up at an appointment. It's something she needs to be aware of when I decide to start TTC because it can affect my measurements throughout pregnancy and the effectiveness of an epidural.
