Question about Monkey Joes

Would Natalie (who is 2 today!) like it?  She likes the mall play area and likes playgrounds at the park.  Is it worth it for me to take her sometime this summer or wait until she is older?  She is cautious when it comes to lots of other kids being around.

Re: Question about Monkey Joes

  • Never been there, but happy birthday Natalie!!
Happy mom to two sweet, silly boys: Cohen age 4, AJ age 2.
  • Happy Birthday!!!

We took K to Pump it Up in Omaha for his cousin's BDay party, and he really seemed to like it (we were with him the whole time though, in the inflatables).  Not sure if Monkey Joe's is like this, but K loved Pump it Up, and he is 15 months old.

Have fun with whatever you do today!!!

  • Betsy liked it at 2.  She mostly just went in the bounce house and didn't do many of the slides.  She was timid at first, but then had a great time.

The Monkey Joe's I was in was in NC and they had staff in all the inflatables so I didn't go in-I really couldn't because Carly was 8 months old.  But they did a good job of policing the big kids and keeping an eye on everyone.

Carly at 19 months loves the inflatable place and goes down everything big sister goes down-even the slides.  She is a lot more adventurous than Betsy.

  • They have a littler kid area.  Toddler town I think its called.  but then if she doesnt like that there is a small area near the computers that has blocks and other toys for her to play with. T only has to pay $5 when he goes, and he will be 3 in July.  So you wont be out a whole lot of $ if she doesnt like it.  maybe they will let you try it frist.  the staff there has always been really nice and helpful when we go there.

  • happy bday to natalie!

Yes, I think she would... I took Oliver there last weekend and he is only 15 months and he loved running around, all the kids, and being in the inflatables for small amounts of time... (the idea of bouncing on inflatables was a little overwhelming for him) we are definitely going back there.  Its a great way to burn energy!

  • I should say that Oliver didn't like being in the inflatables when a lot of other kids were in them... that was too much for him.... he would bounce around and couldn't control himself which made him uncomfortable BUT when there were only a couple kids in there we'd go in them and go down the slide and he loved it... i went on a saturday afternoon around 4 and thought it would be too busy but there is so much room and stuff to play on we were able to be in the inflatables by ourselves several times.

Nicholas hasn't really cared for the inflatables yet, but it's been several months now since we've tried. If you want to see how she likes them without spending any money, Valley West Mall has family fun night the last Tuesday of every month. They have several inflatables and it's free. Last time we went we got there right at 5:30 when they started so there wasn't a huge crowd yet.
  • I guess maybe I'm odd but I didn't like it at all. We did MJ's on a mystery shop so it was free but I thought it was dingy and it's REALLY hard to keep sight of your kid because you can't always see into the inflatables. Ana did okay (18mos almost) but when older kids 2,3,4 years old got in there she got pretty nervous because it's hard to get footing. Katen, the adventurer, was also a little nervous about the rowdy little boys. If you can get a calmer crowd I think that would be better.

  • They have an area specifically for 3 and under and when we were there, the staff did a good job at monitoring it and keeping older kids out of there.
