What are you currently reading?
I know there are a lot of readers here and we did this a while ago, but I wanted to know what you ladies are reading right now? I'm always on the look out for books to add to my list!
Right now I am reading:
Decision Points by George W. Bush : link
It's actually pretty interesting and easy to read so far. I'd say it's more like a series of short essays that he ties together to form a chapter.
and
Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese: link
The characters are really well developed and stay with you.
Re: What are you currently reading?
I just finished Bumped by Megan McCafferty this morning. I started it last night. It was really good and I'm sad I have to wait God knows how long for the sequel.
I'm also reading The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant (historical fiction). It's okay, but a little slow-going (VERY slow-going compared to Bumped).
Books read in 2012: 21/50
I'm re-reading Children of the Mind by Orson Scott Card. It's an Ender book, but definitely a different read than Ender's Game.
I've been trying to start reading A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin for the past three days, but I get about two paragraphs into the Prologue and get called away from reading by DH. Maybe tonight I'll find the time.
I just finished The Room by Emma Donoghue for book club and will start Bossy pants soon for it. I am also am finishing The Girl Who kicked the Hornet's Nest by Steig Larsson. Also reading my Architecture exam manuals but wouldn't recommend those to anyone who is sane. I'd like to read the next of the Hunger Games series if I had time.
Ironically, I'm re-reading Ender's Game for my book club next month!
I read it about when I was 12 years old, so I wanted to re-read it before the book club met.
Last week, I finished The Dirty Life. It was a memoir on this lady from the city who starts up a farm. It was a book club book. I also finished the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse chronicles last week.
Bay, I just checked out your blog to read the review on this book. Did you ever read the book or see the movie, "The Children of Men?" It sounds a lot like this book, Bumped.

@Bay - did I read your post right? You finished a book overnight? Dang!
What is Ender's Game? I will have to look this up...
I've heard about The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, I will have to look into that, too!
I do have a goodreads account, I should probably use it!

I loved those books!
I feel dumb in comparison to you ladies -- I'm reading Steven Tyler's biography, "Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?" because I've had a thing for him since I was a teenager. I don't care how old/wrinkly/hepatitis-y he is -- that man is sexy!
Slowly working my way through a biography on the mystic-Saint Padre Pio. Very deep spiritual stuff that I currently need. I feel like life is just so hectic and there's little time for a deep thought!
I would love to read some fiction next. That's my escape.
I may have to check some of these books out!
Raangoli, read it, it's really good. Definitely provokes some thought, but is also just interesting.
Tpender, I love that you just made "hepatitis-y" a word. Nice.
We just decided that our next book club selection is The Help, so I'm going to get started on it soon. I haven't heard much about it though, other than the fact that it's going to be a movie next month.
