That is very nice of you, BUT, I have to say, it was your awesomeness shining through. Good job. Congrats. You deserve it.
i just have to say that after 13 years as an administrative assistant, i will NOT miss the following things:
- making other people look good and getting none of the credit
- clocking in and out
- making copies/printing/delivering stuff for other people
- entering other people's vacation time (when they could have done it themselves in the same amount of time and effort that it took for them to email and ask me to do it)
- cleaning up conference rooms after meetings with food (people are such pigs)
- fetching coffee/dry cleaning/lunch for other people (because apparently i have nothing better to do with my time)
- FILING
- not truly being viewed as an equal because the word "assistant" is in my title
- every other dumb fvcking thing i've been asked to do as an admin
I will miss:
- my peers, because they are such good people.
sadly, i can't think of anything else i will miss about this job. i'm so over it.
Congrats!
(Sorry if I missed what/where the new job will be, but based on yor description above it's into a different position.)
Boy/girl twins born at 37w1d and 37w2d
the word assistant is no where in the title or the job description!
i am working on our team that produces all of the internal events for the company. i will be concepting the creative elements and pulling together the overall vision for the event. staging, lighting, props, visual and audio elements... it's basically the "events" team but for internal events vs. external. which, i'd rather be on the internal team because the events team that handles our external events travels A LOT. way more than i would be able or interested in.
the people on this team are fantastic and the department is so coveted that they rarely have turnover. hard to get into because people never want to leave.
i'm REALLY fortunate and i'm totally counting my blessings today.
