How much do you typically spend on a wedding shower gift?
Does it depend on who it is that you're buying for?

Re: WR: Shower Gifts
Depends who I'm buying for.
Close friend $50+
Someone I don't know well $25 or less.
I'm cheap.

$50ish across the board. The closer the friend, though, the better the theme and thought put into said gift.

$50 for close friends and family
$30ish for everyone else
I spent $100 on my 2 bffs, but everyone else gets something cheaper.
Stand up for something you believe in.
It depends. As a couple we have only been to 2 weddings. The first was when we were 19 and I think just gave our friends a $25 gift card. The second Jon was in the wedding so the entire wedding party put $100 bucks in and got them a brand new canoe that they had wanted but couldnt afford.
We have 2 more coming up. For my cousin we will give $50 in a card. (They didn't get us anything for ours, but I can't not give something) For our other friends wedding (again he is a groomsman) we will probably do $100.
For a shower? About $30 - 50 sounds right. Closer to $50 if it's a good friend, closer to $30 if it's a not-so-close friend. Granted, in my circle, you're not usually invited to a bridal shower unless you're pretty close with the bride.
For actual weddings: I tend to spend around $30 - 40 for a couple I'm not close to. (I'm going to a coworker's wedding this weekend and will try to keep the gift around that price.) For weddings of very good friends, I tend to spend about $80 - $100. If my brother was getting married, I'd probably spend $200.
Gifts always depend on your relationship with the person, in my opinion.

Ditto. I can't afford big flashy gifts.
$40-50 for anyone, $100 or maybe more for a close friend. If I'm not attending the shower I'll send something cheaper.
I usually spend $30-50. The last shower gift I bought was for Dan's "cousin" and we spent about $30 after using the BBB coupon.
But also, if applicable, I try to match what the person gave me for my shower.

Ditto this exactly. But I'm adding family: $100
