Organize recipes

I have a lot of recipes that I print up. Any suggestions for organizing tools for them to keep handy for cooking?

Re: Organize recipes

  • If they're full page printouts: I've put mine in clear plastic sleeves and put them in a colorful 3 ring binder. Either in alphabetic order,  by meats or type of meal like breakfast, lunch dinner ,and dessert
  • I'm in the process of transferring my favorites to recipe cards to keep in my recipe box.  Much neater that way.

  • I currently have the binder full of clear sleeves, but have been in the process of typing them all neatly and uniformly onto cardstock to put into the recipe box my mother gave me. They are all the same format. I even got a 'corner rounder' thing to make the corners perfectly round, and plan on laminating them so they will not get anything on them when in use.

  • I am also in the process of writing out all my print outs on to recipe cards.

  • I used to print them and keep in a binder, but find it much better to save them in a folder on my PC and when I need the recipe I print it out.  If it is a recipe from a magazine I scan it and also save it.  I have folders for each type of cusines and entree

I put everything in a binder and have them separated by the cuisine: Breakfast, Cocktails, Potato, Pasta, Poultry, etc. It helps me so much!!
  • I have a 3 ring binder with an assortment of plastic sheet covers - some full pages some with 4 or 5 openings per page (like a photo album) for smaller recipes.  I organize by appetizer, main dish, side dish, dessert, breakfast.
