Anyone have an iPad?

I'm going to buy one, but I'm curious about reading books on it.  Is the glare that bad?

Re: Anyone have an iPad?

  • I wouldn't read books on it. Browse the web, maybe read an article or 2 but whole books, no. Are you planning on using as your main reading source?

I was thinking - bye bye library books - hello iPad who can do it all! Like when I travel I can read my book on it.

Or do I just need a kindle?

  • you need a kindle. You read too much to stare at a computer screen on your down time too.

Kindle is going to be getting library books later this year too!

  • I have an IPad and love it!  I read books on it all the time!  Use it for games, web browsing, and reading!

  • I love our iPad, but not for reading.  If you are just looking for something to read on, get a Kindle- they're great.  Of course, the iPad2 is so light that I think it'd be a cinch to carry around both an iPad and a Kindle.   Devil

yeah, I'm pretty sure I need both. Devil

  • It really depends on what you want to use it for.  If all you want to do really is read on it, then definetly get a dedicated reader as that's what they're designed for.  If you really want to be able to do other stuff in addition (play games, surf, etc) then I'd get a tablet.  I've done some reading on our iPad and it's not bad, but you definitely get a glare in any kind of bright light, so keep that in mind.
