Cold-emailing resume

I'm in a pretty narrow industry and want to work in an even more limiting radius. I've taken to sending my resume to companies that don't have a posting for the position, even though I don't even know if they have a team who does what I do.

I'm hoping they realize they could use someone like me though! Fingers crossed

If you are in an narrow industry, it should be your business to know who does it, and who does it well.  You shouldn't need to be sending cold-emails, right?

  • Yes -- but I don't want an external consulting role anymore. I could easily transition into an internal role within a company - I just don't know who already has a dept doing what I do.
