anyone needed to get it during their pregnancy?
i am negative and dh is a positive blood type. and will need to take get this my next doctor's visit in june.

It's only an issue that comes up if the mother is Rh negative. Don't freak out about it. The shots they will give you will prevent any problems. Really.
It used to be a bigger problem than it is nowadays. It also is NOT a danger at all for your first baby -- basically, because you are negative, if the baby is positive (50% chance b/c of YH), your body can view the positive blood in the baby kind of like when you develop an allergy and it can develop antibodies to it.
It takes your body time to develop the antibodies, and the process of developing them usually won't be triggered except possibly during labor if you come in direct contact with some of the baby's blood -- again, it will NOT affect this baby at all. And because they are aware of it and you are going to get the shots during this pregnancy, it will not be a huge deal for later pregnancies either. The shots they give you now will prevent your body from developing the antibodies at all, so it will not become an issue in any later pregnancies either.

Lisa -- is your blood type positive? If so, it doesn't matter what YH's blood type is, which is prob. why they didn't bother asking. As long as the mother is positive, it doesn't become an issue.
