the work out dvd, has anyone done it? Or how about P90x? I don't know if I'm really considering it or not, part of me wants to, but another (very large) part is worried i would totally give up. My dad did p90x and is ripped, but he also tore a bunch of stuff in his shoulders, so....I've done Slim in 6 in the past, but I don't think I completed that either, also, my DH was talking about wanting to do last night

Re: Insanity
I've looked into both of them, but was always hesitant just because of the cost (and the assumption that I'd never follow through!) Just the other day, H was asking me about P90X, so I think if we both decide to give it a try, I can justify the cost - and possibly save some money by purchasing a set through Craigslist. My bigger concern now is the initial cost of buying heavier weights - I only have 3 and 5 pounders (sad, I know), so it would probably cost a small fortune to add the right sizes to my collection. H has a set of heavier weights for himself, but they'd be too heavy for me.
Since I committed to the 30 Day Shred a few months ago, I've been better at being on track with working out, so I'd love to get on a new goal-oriented program.
I don't know if you've already posted over there, but I know I've seen a bunch of posts on Health & Fitness about both programs, so they might be able to answer some of your questions, too!
This is basically what happened to me with P90X. I asked for it as a birthday gift and a friend who already owned them burned copies for me (bad, I know). I was so excited to give it a try but I attempted day one and the reality of it was a shock. There were several exercises you were supposed to do with weights. I didn't have any so I just did them without any weight, and there were also a lot of pull ups you were supposed to do and not having a pull up bar I actually just pretended to be doing pull ups. Even with these modifications and only getting 3/4 of the way through the first disk, I was so sore the next day I could barely walk, nevermind do another workout like that.
I haven't tried Insanity but I'm thinking if I can't even get through one whole P90X session, I probably wouldn't have any better luck with that. Of course, I'm really deplorably out of shape so you might have much better luck. I have several friends who have had excellent results.
