Okay someone explain the concept of the rapture to me, please. I'd like to be prepared for whatever everyone is saying might happen this Saturday
p.s. If someone can convince me it's real that would be good, because I won't go to work the rest of the week!
Re: Is the world ending?
Its all a lot of hullabaloo.
Saturday is judgement day - 200 Million people will be "saved". And there will be earthquakes. Those not saved are stuck here.
In October, its the realll end of the world. And those not saved will have to deal with the end of the world. Darn.
I should point out, the man behind this, thought that the end of the world was September 1994, but this time he is SURE he is correct.
If its not...I will either see some of you when we are saved, or stuck here until October.
There is a billboard in our area and it cause a little bit of controversy.
Here is an article similar to what our TV station said: http://theswash.com/2011/05/11/may-21-2011-is-judgement-day-according-to-billboards/
If it is the end of the world this weekend, at least I will be home with most of my family and die with them....

I will be PISSED if there is rapture on Saturday, considering it is the week before my birthday.
There was a big hullabaloo about it here in Boston b/c the crazies paid for these big billboards talking about the rapture to the MBTA (transit authority) but the MBTA took them down.
I think the whole thing is amusing really.

I don't know that I fit the requirements for salvation, so we will have to get together between now and then.
At the risk of sounding dumb. I have no clue what you girls are talking about. Would someone care to enlighten me a bit? Thanks
Not dumb at all. There is this crazy old man who thinks that Judgement day (the coming of Jesus, God deciding who is worth saving, etc.) is Saturday and that it will be the end of the world in October.
Just google Judgement Day 2011 and you will see lots.
We can then all get matching t shirts:

You girls are totally cracking me up! I was out sick yesterday and did not get on TN, but I'm sorry I missed this one :-) I'll just weigh in with this:
Matthew 24:23: "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not."...
Matthew 24:36: "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only..."
I Thess 5:2: "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night."
Clearly, different faiths have varying belief systems - but I believe that as the Bible says, when "that day and hour comes"...no one will know it. We know it by what's happening in the world, not by what some kook puts on billboards.
