Bar/Restaurant recs in Adams Morgan
So DH and I are meeting some friends Saturday night in Adams Morgan before they are having a party at Town Tavern with a bunch of other friends since they're in town from overseas.
I'm looking for someplace low-key, but yummy where we can grab a few drinks and some food prior to their party at Town Tavern. Nothing Mexican since they're living in Guadalajara now and probably a little tired of Mexican food.
Also, I'm planning on driving and finding someplace to park since our time out is limited by having a sitter and I don't feel like languishing on the Metro for the whole night. Any idea if I would be better off going with a garage or street parking?
It's been a while since I've been to Adams Morgan so I really don't much about what is around there.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Bar/Restaurant recs in Adams Morgan
no suggestions for parking since we bus or walk to adams morgan but i really like bourbon (right on 18th street) a lot. as the name would suggest, they have some great bourbon but they also have great food (love their tater tots!). i had a bourbon cocktail with grapefruit bitters that was soo good i've started making more cocktails at home with that combination.
DH likes reef a lot. i think it's just ok and would go to bourbon or the diner over reef.

I used to live in Adams Morgan. Personally, I'd pay for garage parking. Street parking around there on a weekend is a total and complete nightmare. I'd rather spend money on a garage than drive around endlessly looking for a spot.
PP's recommendation of Cashion's is great, but it can be pricey. If you like sushi, I love Perry's, and their roofdeck is amazing. For very casual, I agree with the Amsterdam Falafelshop recommendation.
Thanks for the recs and parking advice. Amsterdam Falafel sounds yummy and not too pricey, so it has my vote. Bourbon looks really cool, but I'm not sure if drinking bourbon would be a good way to start the evening. I don't feel like taking care of two babies on Sunday when DH is whining all day about his hangover.
I'm glad I have some good places to suggest.
