Is anyone watching extreme couponing?

I finally saw someone on there with a logical idea! They "shop" for non-porfits with their coupons. They stock up on "free" or dirt cheap items like deodorant and what not and donate it. Now that's an idea!!

Re: Is anyone watching extreme couponing?

  • i'm not watching but i've seen some where they donate. i'm glad, too, because a lot of that stuff they are hoarding is perishable and shouldn't go to waste for their "game".
Me:39 Dx LPD, Fibroid, AMA and all that goes with that. H:37 Dx low motility and low morphology. TTC since 3/12. Clomid 8/12 and 9/12: BFN. 11/12 on a break for Myomectomy sched. 11/26. Resume TTC early 2013.
  • I've never seen the show, but from the saounds of it, I know people like this. I used to have one regular at my bar who would clip coupons every Sunday. I went to her apartment once, and she had a good 15 sticks of deoderant, 7 toothepastes, and a ton of other "extras" None of which she paid more than $1 for. I've never clipped a coupon, but I almost wish I did! I couldn't believe what she'd save.
  • A bunch of them have donated stuff.  The one guy even went out with the intention of creating 100 care packages for soldiers.

I honestly think those huge shopping trips they show are just for the show.  They all are making the biggest purchase ever, and it so happens to be while taping.  Riiiight.  I don't understand why you need 100 toothpastes and 100 deoderent just to show the world that you're paying nothing.  I'd rather they have a REAL grocery list and see them pay nothing.  That's more realistic.  Especially for all the people like myself who don't have the room to stockpile 100s of the things.

  • Yeah, that's true. One yesterday did say that this was her biggest purchase ever so they probably work for weeks to set up for that.
