So I have been feeling a little blah lately. I have been getting a lot of deals from Groupon, Living Social, etc for salons for insanely cheap prices. I have a problem spending money on myself so almost never go to the salon, but think will buy the next good offer I receive.
So what should I do, as far as my hair is concerned. I want something different. I included a picture of myself in all my boring glory (sorry look like I'm going to kick somebody's butt). I have lime-ish green eyes, pale red-toned skin and natural ashy light/med brown hair.
I want something young and fun but simple at the same time. I don't like styling my hair and almost never wear make-up, so something super glamourous wouldn't obviously work.
Lets hear some ideas for color and cut. TIA!

Re: Make me over!
Don't hurt me, Kel!
I say something like this, the gorgeous Ginnifer Goodwin:
But in this color:
I was going to suggest red, too! I LOVE red hair, and I think you have the perfect skin tone for it.
ETA: I was thinking bob. It would be low-maintance, and this color is great.
Kel, you would make a cute redhead. And being a redhead is fun! I'd go a shade like Amy Adam's so you keep your brownish undertone rather that going burgandyish or strawberry blonde.
Can I make makeup suggestions?
I'd try a tinted moisturizer style foundation with an SPF (I'm currently using Covergirl Nature Luxe and I have $2 off coupons through a survey thing I did on BzzAgent if you want one), a light but ultrawaterproof liner in a couple of "fun" colors and 2 coats of a good black mascara (yes, black, as dark as you can go, even with lighter hair, eyes and skin).
You look finished without having spent more than 3 minutes on your entire routine.
Finally, I think each of the cuts posted are a bit short for your face shape. I'd do a greater side band and something right above your shoulders. Your hair is a little wavy, yes? If so, scrunch with some beachy wave spray and go after your shower and you'll get something cute like this:
Stand up for something you believe in.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I think a cut like this would be cute on you....maybe even a bit longer...like shoulder-length. I really like the side-swept bangs.
For color, I think a reddish brown with a few blond highlights.

Just throwing it out there that short =/= low maintenance. I *have* to blow out my hair every day with a round brush and use some texturizing spray to get that cute round bouncy but peicey shape. Otherwise I just look like a boy. It takes me about 15-20 mins every morning. It also requires getting your hair cut more often, every 6-8 weeks, which gets pricey.
I agree that going red would be super cute. And salons usually do a demi/semi (can't remember which) when they do red, so it fades out and you don't have to do constant touch ups if you don't want to. You just grow it out, and roots aren't terribly noticeable.
Love the wavy cut that Mary posted!
I think a longer bob with sideswept bangs would look nice on you. The longer layer in the front would angle your face and it looks fancy when either lightly curled or straightened. On busy days, you can still put it in a low ponytail or half up.
I thought your hair was already red. Was it in your wedding or engagement pics, because that is what I remember. I like the hair color DD posted.
I think you could google Allyson hannigan pictures and pull off her colors and cuts. (Sorry, I suck at PIP's).
On a side note, Mary I love the Ginnifer Goodwin pic you posted and may try to do it myself.
I have never dyed my hair red, but for some reason golden brown gives me a red tint, especially in sunlight. You have a great memory! For some reason, in my engagment photos, my hair looks red. I don't know if it was the addition of the photographer's lights to the sunlight or what. But come to think of it, those are some of my favorite pictures, so perhaps red it is
