My 10 year reunion is coming up this spring, or at least it was supposed to be. I am really annoyed with the whole process. There is a FB group for my class and they said they were going to start planning back in the fall, yet there is nothing set up still. There was a message sent a while back saying that it is going to be the weekend of the festival at the local catholic church since quite a few people come back for that anyway... well that festival is in 3 weeks and there are NO set plans for it still, and we got a message today from the guy who was supposed to be planning it that he has to work that weekend (...in Boston).
I was going to offer to set things up since I am still in the area and have some free time but I was not really wanting to put a lot of my own time in to gathering people that I mostly don't want to see, but now I am wishing I would have offered since it doesn't seem like anything is going to get done.
Re: Class reunion
My DH was class president and never planned anything for his because he just didn't care, the treasurer or someone else ended up stepping up and quickly planning things. But they had a graduating class of about 40 so it wasn't a whole lot of work or address gathering.
My 10 year class reunion is coming up this year, I haven't heard anything about it but doubt I would go anyways.
Mine was a huge two-night deal a couple years ago - there were over 500 people in my graduating class... I didn't go because I had just birthed a baby two days prior
But I probably wouldn't have gone anyways. I think reunions are on their way out... Nowadays everyone keeps in contact with who they want to keep in contact with through FB or whatever...
I didn't go to mine, and had no desire to. It was a big luncheon thing at the school, for multiple class years (10, 20, 30 etc). My friend went, and only 6 people from our class attended (including her). I'm glad I didn't waste $30 on a bad lunch and a crappy afternoon.
