I know I have posted this a million times, but this is my last straw before bringing it up with the pedi again! Ella is getting taller (almost 40 inches) and not getting any bigger...there is seriously nothing to her! She weighs 32lbs and on a good day that she eats, maybe up to 34! At her 2yr appt she weighed 29.5, so in 18months she has not gained much. Normally I would be ok with it, but we struggle to get her to eat meals. I try everything and I am lucky if I get one complete meal in her. On days she doesn't eat much it is VERY noticeable because her eyes look dark and sunken in and her breath smells horrible! We tried cutting her food in fun shapes with cookie cutters, small tiny servings in fun containers and when I am really grasping, like last night, we offer to take her somewhere and let her pick...yeah, none of that works! I buy pediasure and the other calorie drinks so much that Target spits out $5 off coupons for me all the time! I just feel at a loss! Do I just bring her to the pedi again or does anyone else have any ideas? My go to foods for her are cheese and apples...that's about it!
Re: Toddler eating!
That's a good idea, if Ella will drink them, hopefully she will, you could get some whey protein, and put that in, if you go to GNC they have weight gainers, and you could just mix that in. like vanilla or chocolate flavors.
I have been having a hard time getting M to eat recently, too. The weight gain sounds similar to him, but I think it may be normal? Don't really know though! Smoothies seem to go over well. I've even tried making "breakfast cookies" and it doesn't seem to help much! My only thought is does she have enlarged tonsils? I only ask because M does and it looks like we are headed towards having them removed in a few months. However, I'm not completely convinced that the eating habits have to do with large tonsils, it may just be a toddler thing!
